I used to believe that moving should be no big deal and that my spirit of adventure, creativity, and love for family would carry me through relocation trade-offs.

I broke through that false belief when I noticed that while my house was set-up and ready for action, I was hurting and resentful about how I had so willingly dismantled my inner life; my  routines, my friendships, my goals, my connection to nature. It was a tough realization to stomach that I was proceeding without putting my own dreams for a connected, rooted life in the mix as I supported others I loved.

Somehow I thought that if I could just do X or Y or Z a little bit better after each move, I wouldn’t feel the way I did. Does that resonate with you?
