When I volunteered as President of the San Jose Woman’s Club in early 2020, I had no idea the COVID pandemic would last as long as it did, cause the level of death, disruption and devastation it did, and usher in a pause for reflection. Nor did I ever anticipate the summer of 2020’s BLM and civic uprisings across the nation and here in San Jose following the murder of George Floyd. These two currents have defined my Presidency and I hope that history shows that my brief 2-years of service to the organization led to change for good.

I look forward to sharing my reflections on these last couple of years when my term as President ends in the summer of 2022. Until then, the Aphrodite Works site will continue to remain quiet as I keep my head down and complete several more projects for the nonprofit organization located at 75 S. 11th Street.
